Breeding conditions:
|
Arctic Foxes were not seen. Only wandering skuas were registered, although some nesting pairs could be missed. Purple Sandpipers arrived on 9-19 June and nested in late June (in one nest hatching occurred on 20 July). Thus, adverse weather conditions did not resulted in delayed arrival or start of breeding in this species, but a slight reduction of nesting density was possible. Records of a Red-necked Stint in a flock of Purple Sandpipers on 15 June, and of two Turnstones from 22 June to 31 July can be due to late spring at Taimyr.
